Vedessä - Solo Exhibition

Vedessä - Solo Exhibition

Tiina Törmänen showcased her underwater photographs at Neliö-Gallery from December 1 to December 31, 2021.

The exhibition showcased the northern underwater worlds she had explored over the past four years. It allowed her to reflect deeply, process difficult emotions, and reveal hidden sights.

The exhibition showcased 24 underwater photographs, most 90 x 60 cm in size and printed on aluminium.

"As a photographer, I was fascinated by the hidden world of our waters. What did life look like beneath the surface in a close yet remote world? In my travels to numerous northern waters over the previous years, I saw the underwater realm as a timeless space full of surprises and untouched wonders.

At times, I found myself surrounded by a school of perch. The sensation of being submerged transitioned from initial awe to a meditative state. Underwater, I felt at peace with the peaceful world around me. It became a place to reflect on my emotions and to be truly present, focused on my breath and the act of observation."

The exhibition showcased 24 underwater photographs, most 90 x 60 cm in size and printed on aluminium.

Thanks to all the visitors! We appreciate everyone who took the time to see the exhibition.
